Real returns for New Orleans
IIn 2025, Global New Orleans advanced its mission by creating meaningful opportunities for international exchange and local engagement. Through professional fellowships, IVLP delegations, youth programming, and the launch of our first outbound exchange, we connected New Orleans to the world in ways that were practical, personal, and impactful.
This work also delivered measurable economic value for our community. In 2025, Global New Orleans turned $234,861 in program funding into $1,111,596 in direct local economic impact, supporting hotels, restaurants, transportation providers, and cultural institutions across the city. Together, these outcomes demonstrate how people-to-people diplomacy strengthens both global understanding and New Orleans’ local economy.

Building a Global Community

Global Exchange
Global New Orleans brings people together to learn by doing.
From energy hubs and farms, to classrooms, courtrooms, and creative spaces, explorers met the folks shaping our region from the inside through 149 sessions.
Visitors joined 65+ cross-cultural activities and 30 cultural tours—sharing buku meals, dancing through the wards, and stepping behind the scenes into real New Orleans life.
Many stayed long enough to make it feel like home.
Over 1,876 nights in the Crescent City, conversations turned into collaborations and plans for what comes next.
Community Feel
Global New Orleans runs on people.
A welcoming melting pot of 260+ New Orleanians across 107 organizations helps every visit feel personal and open.
We break bread together.
We hosted 12 dinners with 41 international guests and 11 networking events with 329 community members.
These moments spark partnerships.
They create friendships, new projects, and reasons to stay in touch long after the trip ends.
The Next Generation
Global New Orleans invites students into the world early.
We worked with 7 K–12 schools and 7 colleges and universities to reach 200+ students.
In the Global Leadership Academy, students step into global roles.
They debate & collaborate with one another. Through encounters with international fellows and local professionals, they imagine their future expanding into a wider world.
They leave with new ideas and the confidence to see themselves as part of something bigger.
Looking Ahead
