Promoting Women’s Security

OVERVIEW

From April 22–26, 2025, we hosted the project "Promoting Women’s Security,” which brought together professionals from the Near East and North Africa focused on addressing gender-based violence and advancing women's security. The program featured site visits to key local organizations, including the Family Violence Program of St. Bernard, Metro Centers for Community Advocacy, Kenner Domestic Violence Court, and Masjid Omar. Participants explored topics such as culturally competent survivor support, the role of faith-based communities, and specialized judicial practices. The project facilitated meaningful cross-cultural exchange, professional learning, and collaboration on effective strategies to promote women’s safety and survivor-centered justice.
