Trafficking in Persons: Prevention and Mitigation I

OVERVIEW

From April 23–27, 2025, the project "Trafficking in Persons: Prevention and Mitigation I" brought a diverse group of international professionals to New Orleans. This multi-regional exchange convened legal experts, law enforcement officials, and NGO leaders to examine collaborative strategies to combat human trafficking. Participants engaged with the Greater New Orleans Human Trafficking Task Force, Covenant House, the New Orleans Police Department, and a joint panel of forensic nurses, mental health professionals, and federal investigators addressing victim-centered response and trauma-informed care. The program fostered impactful dialogue and cross-sector partnerships aimed at enhancing prevention efforts, law enforcement coordination, and survivor support systems globally.
