From April 22–26, 2025, Global New Orleans welcomed a delegation from Africa and Haiti on the project “Transparency and Accountability in Government.” The program brought together civic leaders, legal professionals, and government officials to explore mechanisms that promote open, accountable governance.
Trafficking in Persons: Prevention and Mitigation I
COUNTRIES: ARGENTINA, BULGARIA, ISRAEL, NEPAL, PHILIPPINES, POLAND, UZBEKISTAN, ZIMBABWE
From April 23–27, 2025, the project "Trafficking in Persons: Prevention and Mitigation I" brought a diverse group of international professionals to New Orleans. This multi-regional exchange convened legal experts, law enforcement officials, and NGO leaders to examine collaborative strategies to combat human trafficking.
Promoting Women’s Security

From April 22–26, 2025, we hosted the project "Promoting Women’s Security,” which brought together professionals from the Near East and North Africa focused on addressing gender-based violence and advancing women's security.

Renewable Energy as an Eonomic Driver II

The multi-region project “Renewable Energy as an Economic Driver II” was held in New Orleans from November 19-23, 2024. The delegation included experts in renewable energy from government and the private sector exploring how sustainable energy development can support global political stability, economic opportunities, and prosperity.

U.S. Foreign Policy - Global Challenges II
COUNTRIES: CROATIA, DENMARK, FRANCE, ITALY, NETHERLANDS, NORWAY, POLAND, SERBIA, SLOVENIA
From November 14 - 19, Global New Orleans hosted the IVLP group “U.S. Foreign Policy - Global Challenges II.” This European delegation included foreign policy advisors, defense analysts, and researchers examining foreign policy issues of concern to Europe and the United States, such as counterterrorism and security, and transatlantic relations.

Transparency and Accountability in Government

From October 30 - November 5, we hosted a delegation of policy makers, attorneys, anti-corruption advocates and journalists from Portuguese-speaking countries examining how transparency and accountability in government ensure public trust in the integrity and fairness of elected officials, public servants, and the institutions of government.

Women and Entrepreneurship: Small Business

From October 16 - 21, we welcomed a group of female entrepreneurs, small business owners, and business development experts for a multi-region project illustrating the impact of women-owned businesses on the U.S. economy and exploring the progress of women to participate more fully in the global economy.

Combating Racism in Sports
COUNTRIES: SPAIN
This project explored models and promising practices to use sports as a powerful tool for promoting social cohesion while simultaneously supporting the inclusion of minorities, respect for diversity, and tolerance needed in order to strengthen civil society and democratic foundations in Spain. Participants examined approaches to address and remedy the lasting impact of racial inequality and discrimination in sports in the U.S. and while visiting organizations supporting awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns to combat racism in sports in local, state, and federal levels.

Host international visitors in your home – virtually or in-person! Members of Global New Orleans are eligible to participate in this unique cultural exchange opportunity and build direct interpersonal connections with our guests from around the world. Home Hospitality allows our international visitors the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the lifestyle of a New Orleanian by joining them in their home for a meal. Hosts have shared local or family culinary traditions, events, festivals, and live music, and more. We welcome creativity and Global New Orleans staff are happy to coordinate a group that you will enjoy sharing an evening or afternoon with!
