Transparency and Accountability in Government
OVERVIEW
From April 22–26, 2025, Global New Orleans welcomed a delegation from Africa and Haiti on the project “Transparency and Accountability in Government.” The program brought together civic leaders, legal professionals, and government officials to explore mechanisms that promote open, accountable governance. Participants engaged with the New Orleans Office of Inspector General, Court Watch NOLA, and other key institutions to examine strategies for combating corruption, enhancing oversight, and empowering citizen participation in government processes. The program also included opportunities for cultural reflection and collaborative dialogue, including a workshop on action planning for continued impact with professional facilitator Keith Twitchell. This project strengthened global efforts to support transparent, effective public institutions.
